Greenline Leadership Team
The Greenline network of complete streets and rail trails is advanced by a collaborative leadership team. It is currently co-led by the City of Kingston Health and Wellness Department and Ulster County's Planning Department.
Stakeholders include:
- The City of Kingston Department of Public Works
- The City of Kingston Parks and Recreation Department
- Kingston Police Department
- The Ulster County Sheriff's Opioid Response as County Law Enforcement (ORACLE) Team
- The Wallkill Valley Land Trust
- The Woodstock Land Conservancy
- The Kingston land Trust
- Scenic Hudson
- Ulster County Trails Advisory Committee
- Kingston Waterfront Business Association
- The Midtown Business Alliance
- Sojourner Truth State Park
The group has focused meetings on maintenance, long-term planning/improvements, trail activation, outreach/communications, and events. In addition, the municipalities are working to develop a stewardship program.
Would you like to get more involved?
If you are interested in any of the specific volunteer opportunities below, please contact Emily Flynn, Director of Health and Wellness, at eflynn@kingston-ny.gov.
Greenline Trail Rangers - would you be interested in leading a clean-up or walk on the Greenline? If you want to lead a bicycle ride, we will invite you to organize it with Bike Friendly Kingston.
Greenline Outreach Team - Would you be interested in tabling at a community event or distributing maps? We would supply the materials.
There are also many boards and commissions to join, including the boards of the stakeholders above. The City of Kingston is regularly looking for members for the Live Well Kingston Health Commission and its focus teams of Age Well, Eat Well, Grow Well, Play Well, and Travel Well. The Complete Streets Advisory Council works on recommendations for safer streetscapes for all users. There are many other City Commissions, and the application are listed here.
